Weekly Report 31/8/12

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Aug 31, 2012 3:13 pm

Quite a few flathead up to Broadwater, bass and perch in Emigrant Creek, bream have spread out a fair bit with fish in the creeks and up to about Wardell or even further. School jew from about Burns Point to Wardell and beyond.
Beaches pretty quiet apart from a couple of patches of tailor around Broadwater and a vew around Lennox.
Some snapper to about 7kg from the 32-42s from south, north out on the 48s with a few kings as well up off Byron.
The snapper and trag at Evans Head have been reasonably co-operative up to about Wednesday but the moon might be getting a bit bright for them now. There were also a few nice jew come in, especially during the evening.
The beaches have rare patches of tailor, a few bream and still the odd good flathead. Baitfish are scarce, as are the salmon.
The Evans River is quite clear but producing some quality flathead over the shallows and the bream are spreading out fairly well. Look for whiting over the flats.
