The 32 and 42 fathom line produced some snapper, flathead and parrot during the week. A few pearl perch and kingfish came from the 48 and 55 fathom line on live baits and jigs. Unfortunately the close reefs have been a little quiet but I would still be checking them out with some live baits or floating pilchards for a few snapper or jew.

The beaches and rocks have produced a few chopper tailor and some nice quality bream around the washy areas. Pilchards and mullet have been good baits. The jew have been a little quiet but we have some good night tides this weekend so it will be worth trying your luck with some squid, mullet or worms around those change of tides. Pippies and mullet have been good bait options on Angels and South Ballina beaches.

Back in the river there has still been some good numbers of luderick on the walls, behind the CBD and at Prospect Bridge. The bream have been a bit quiet but I would be fishing the run up tide for your best chance of grabbing a feed. The flathead have been in better numbers between the ferry and Wardell bridge. Prawns and white pilchards have still been the best of the baits along with some bright colored soft plastics.

Tight lines
