The close reefs are still producing a few snapper and the odd trag. The 32 and 42 fathom line are holding some snapper, trag, flathead and the odd kingfish. Soft plastics, micro jigs and bait have all worked, so it will just depend on your preference. Bar cod and blue eye are still coming from out on the shelf.

The beaches have been a little quiet but there are still a few tailor coming from Angels, Boulders and Seven Mile beaches. Cut baits and garfish have both worked well, and the odd bream has also been taken when using these baits. A few dart have been taking pipis and worms on the beaches and a number of school jew have been belting squid and beach worms.

Back in the river there are still plenty of luderick around Prospect Bridge and behind the CBD. The run in tide has still been working better. The flathead are continuing to move down the river and are still hitting white pilchards and mullet. The bream have been making their way up the river with the clean water. Prawns, mullet fillets, or chicken gut have all been good baits lately. A number of fish are starting to show up out on the sand flats so it may be worth trying a few surface lures on the in coming tide.

A few bass are starting to show some interest in surface lures so it may be time to dust off the tackle box and get your lures ready for the warmer weather.
