Report 30/11/18

Offshore, the action has been patchy, and the dark water hasn't produced many fish. There has been the odd blue marlin, but no blacks yet.
We haven't seen any wahoo or Spanish macks yet, but fish have been taken in Byron, so it sholdn't be too long.
Coming in closer, kingies and snapper have been taken in better numbers. Kings to 120cm have been reported, and snapper, tailor and odd trevally have been the by-catch.

In closer again around the beaches, plenty of jew are hunting due to dirty water, mostly caused by the northerlies.
Runs of whiting and bream have kept the bread and butter brigade happy.

In the rivers, plenty of bream and flathead have been caught on lures and baits on the flats, and there have been some flathead caught to 90cm!
The blackfish season is quickly dying off, and while there's a few fish chewing, they're certainly not in big numbers.
Now is a good time for jewies in the river, and lots of smaller fish around 40-60cm have come out after a good spawn a few years ago.

In the fresh, there's been good bass action, and this is also a good time of year to find a sneaky creek with giant herring and tarpon in it. They are there, you just need to find them!
