Things have been pretty slow out wide due to the rain we've had over the last 2-3 weeks. The Spanish mackerel have been pushed further south, and we're now getting only the odd spotty and Spanish up to 20kg from time to time.

There are lots of garfish around, and the longtails have been showing up close in to the rocks feeding on them.

There are still some snapper getting caught in close up to around the 15-20m mark. A lot of the kayakers and tinny brigade are getting into them.

In the estuaries the bream and whiting have been pretty thick, and the whiting have been all good sizes. The flathead came down with the big lot of rain we had, and there's been a lot of them getting caught around the mouth of the river. 4-5km back from there has been the hotspot at the moment.

Jacks are getting caught from time to time but it's definitely not the season it was last year.

There are a few trevally getting around as well, and we'll see more of them as the cold sets in.

Off the rocks there are good numbers of tailor around that 2-3kg mark, and the blackfish are starting to turn up as well.
