Reds have started showing up on the close-in reefs, and hopefully this a sign of a good season ahead. Early mornings have been fishing the best.

The mackerel have been slow. Spotties have been small and there aren't too many around, and there aren't many barries either.

Moving to the estuaries, the blackfish are firing around the harbour, creek inlets etc.

Off the beaches there are a lot of tailor getting around, along with some nice jewfish. Bream have been a little touch and go; they are around but they're patchy.

This weekend will be a blow out, so stay in protected corners.
