The fishing out wide has been fairly quiet, however there are a few dollies around the FADs and fish taps taking live slimes, soft plastics and stickbaits.
There's been patches of kings, but the success of this caper depends on the current, with a general preference for more run in the current. Anglers have been catching the kings around the island and the various pinnacles in around 80m of water on jigs.
There are reasonable numbers of snapper, and while the pearlies have been quiet there's still a few there for those willing to put the effort in.

On the rocks things have been quiet, but there are some jew and tailor around, but it's been pretty hard going.

The estuaries have had a big flush, so there's good fishing to be had in the lower reaches.
Mangrove jacks are on the chew all along the rivers, with flatties, bream, trevally also featuring in catches recently.
For a bit of fun, whiting are hitting topwater options pretty readily, so don't miss an opportunity to give this a go in coming weeks!

Up in the fresh, the bass have really benefited from the big flush, and with a few hot days they should be ready to smack surface lures.
Going further up the hill, there's plenty of trout fishing available up on the plateau.
