Weekly Report 5/1/07

Offshore: Water temp has dropped but the first mackerel of the season have been encountered with a number of spotties around Arrawarra and Barcoongerie off Sandon. Bundagen could happen this weekend.
A little rain has pumped a tiny fresh into the estuaries which should finally have the whiting on their way. Big whiting are still schooled in the lower estuaries but are refusing to take bait. A few bream and nice flatties in the estuaries and any fresh will help.
Beach gutters are turning up lots of small whiting and let’s hope that improves this weekend. Also the odd tailor, jewfish and a few big bream. Mice to see the return of blackfish to the ocean rocks.
