Offshore: Mackerel just about vanished for the season and some quite cool water turning up. Some very good snapper in close in the shallows but there’s no whitewater to act as cover for them because the seas are flat.
Some reasonable bream along the beaches. Try any beach with a gravel pit, such as Park Beach behind the Hoey Moey, Diggers, Charlesworth Bay and Sapphire. There should be tailor in the beach gutters as well with reasonable blackfish around the rocks.
Bottom ends of the estuaries still bottlenecked with mullet, bream, whiting and flathead but difficult to get the fish to take a bait in the clear water. Early mornings and evenings your best chance.
