9/12/05 Weekly Report

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Dec 09, 2005 12:53 pm

Offshore: Good snapper in deeper water with flathead on the drift and some exceptionally big kingfish on the drop-offs. Pearl perch at the north-east trag grounds and out on The Patch.
Beaches: The big influx of fresh water from the recent storms will push most fish out into the beach gutters. These have been fishing well for whiting, bream and tailor and will now be even better, with the chance of a few jewfish as well.
Estuaries are quiet and will need the push back of the tide to turn up a few fish. A distinct lack of flathead in the estuaries but whiting and bream are making up for them.
