Weekly Report 29/1/10

Still mackerel up north and down south but virtually nothing between Urunga and Woopi. But the run should start any day now, with plenty of bait on the Park Beach Bommie and the other bait grounds. Plenty of good snapper from the shallow reefs, lots of mahi mahi on anything floating and a few small black marlin turning up. Offshore anglers have been able to launch from practically any beach, with surf about 10cm high all this week.
Beaches have heaps of undersized whiting with the odd good fish. Some nice bream, a few tailor and the odd jewfish hunting along the gutters.
Estuaries also fishing well for whiting, bream and flathead. The morning rising tide seems to be the best.
