We still have plenty of mackerel, wall to wall in fact, and the water is still warm. Snapper have gone a bit quiet but even so, there are some good pearl perch out wide. A few billfish have also turned up, frolicking in the ideal conditions. Still very few baitfish apart from masses of whitebait.
Tailor around the washes have certainly improved, someone weighed in a 3.5kg one this week.
Whiting have slowed down a little in the beach gutters but there have been increased catches of bream and tailor.
The estuaries are all at sizes and sevens; every time they start to clear we get another downpour. Fish 100m either side of the tide change as it pushes back. Good flathead in the estuary mouths, wihiting and bream in the estuaries.
