I have a sneaking suspicion that the mullet have already run during the first fresh after this week’s westerlies. Bream have been very patchy but if you go looking there are some good ones. Small school jew in the lower estuaries and along the beaches. Tailor along the beaches and the first of the salmon have turned up.
Flathead are patchy and small, although better fish are in the surf around the mouths of the creeks.
Nobody has been able to get offshore since early in the week when there were some good mackerel, also some reasonable snapper and longtail tuna.
