Weekly Report 24/2/12

Been pretty ordinary, really – cold water, warm water, clear water, dirty water. Very patchy with a few mackerel in schools, find the warm water for success. Inshore reefs fishing quite well for snapper and pearl perch, along with a few kings. Some interesting tide lines out wide and some bigger boats headed out there today (Fri) and it will be interesting to see how they go. A few mahi mahi on stuff that’s floating.
Beaches are fishing quite nicely but you’ll need to move from gutter to gutter until you find the fish. Whiting, bream, dart and now a few salmon as well. A few jewfish around and the very odd tailor.
Estuaries are starting to clear up with the bigger tides doing their thing; fish the run up and follow the tidal front for bream, whiting and the odd flathead. A few tailor around the mouths.
