Weekly Report 16/3/12

Acres of mackerel, Spanish and spotties, with marlin and wahoo out a little wider. Good wahoo just northeast of the lighthouse and plenty of mackerel everywhere. Good snapper off the reefs as well and mahi mahi on anything floating. That magic time of the year has finally arrived. Boaties should be aware that the Blue Water Diving Classic is on this weekend out of Woolgoolga so look out for ‘diver below’ flags.
Beach gutters have settled but still patches of whiting and bream, better gutters are those close to the creek mouths.
Estuaries fishing quite nicely on the rising tide but fairly ordinary on the run out. A number of estuaries have very large populations of tailor over 30cm going in and out on the tide.
