Weekly Report 8/2/13

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Feb 08, 2013 12:29 pm

Spanish mackerel on the inshore reefs along with a few snapper. Wide grounds turning up trag and pearl perch.
Beaches OK for whiting, a few jewfish and a few tailor. Gutters near the estuary mouths are the most productive.
Estuaries are OK with the push of the rising tide, try 100m either side of the change of colour of the water for whiting, flathead and a few bream.

Spanish of Coffs
We were cleaning our catch of bream at the boat ramp cleaning table with a guy cleaning his 15kg yellow fin 4kg snapper and shared a fishy tale of a large mackerel that took a 50 meter run before cutting through his 80kg leader . I think there might be the odd one about . Woza
