In close is clear and the fishing is very patchy. The odd snapper around very early but out wider, the jackets have thinned out so the pearlies and trag are going well in 100m. A striped marlin seen last weekend and the water is 23° out on the shelf with current and bait and a few lof the local game clubbies are heading out this weekend. A few rat kings on the northern of the lighthouse on jigs and plastics.
Odd school jew and tailor from the headlands and the beaches have a reasonable run of bream on live worms, including roed-up fish. Nice whiting as by-catch.
Bonville and Urunga have early whiting over the flats with good lizards in the lower reaches as well.
