Mackerel are coming in at the moment; no spotties yet but a few barred macks are coming aboard.
The snapper have been in close for a while, but now they have gone back out wider.
There are bream on the beaches, doing their annual spawning run. The flathead are up the top of the rivers, with lots of big breeding females showing up in catches. Please release these fish carefully so they can reproduce.
Blackfish catches are dwindling, and most anglers have stopped fishing for them. Drummer and groper are still hanging about on the headlands.
Mulloway are starting to come in pretty close, and the odd striped marlin is coming aboard, which bodes well for the coming season.
