Weekly Report 29/11/13

There are a fair few bass around. With a bit of water they’re moving up the creeks pretty well, and the warm weather has put them in a feeding mood.

Whiting, bream and flathead are fishing really well on the surface in the estuaries. Clear poppers are working very well for whiting.

On the headlands there are school jew as well as tailor and bonito in close. Offshore there are schools of rat kings with some smaller schools of larger kinds around reefs and pinnacles. Live bait is working best on the bigger ones.

The snapper are spread around. The best way to get some is to berley for them floatline small baits down a berley trail.

Out wide there's not too much happening gamefish-wise. There are a few mahi mahi around, but they’re spread out and you have to really hunt for them. Look around for warm blue water to give yourself the best chance of success.

There are quite a few crabs around at the moment in the smaller creeks.
