Weekly Report 31/01/14

The great run of Spanish mackerel is continuing, and the spotted mackerel are thick as well. There are still good numbers of snapper being caught, sometimes in relatively shallow depths. Kayakers have been going out and getting them in 20-30m of water.

Whiting have been really good, with many anglers enjoying great sessions on the flats.

The bream are going well underneath the leases and up towards the top of the river now that they’ve finished the breeding season. Now is a good time to target them.

Reports indicate that big flathead are still around, and there is also word of the odd tailor and salmon being caught.
