This fishing isn’t too bad at the moment. Summer species are starting to quiet down but winter species are taking their place, including tailor and snapper. There aren’t too many schools of salmon just yet but they should slowly show up in the next month or so.

Plenty of tuna are about, including striped tuna, bonito, yellowfin and longtails. There have been reports of broadbill out wide, so a few people are going out this weekend to try their luck.

The beaches are firing pretty well with jewfish along most gutters following the mullet run. A fair few people have been getting jew over the last few weeks. Mixed up amongst them along the beaches are tailor and bream. Whiting starting to slowly ease off but the occasional one is still getting caught.

The rivers are the same state, with winter species taking over. Blackfish in particular are coming in strong, along with winter runs of groper. Anglers are getting good drummer off the rocks, and we’re seeing reports of quality groper as well.
