There are a few snapper coming through, we’re just waiting for the colder water to set in. A few Spanish are getting through as well in that shallow water.

There are a few mud crabs up the creek now, and off the rocks anglers are targeting mulloway and tailor. There are a few bigger tailor getting around now.

On the beaches locals are targeting mulloway on a high tide at night.

There are a few squid around as well; wherever there’s a bit of kelp there are squid. Size 3 squid jigs are the go, and lately we’ve been doing well using Yamashita Egi Oh Q warm jacket jigs.

In the river there are reports of good bream on yabbies. A few bigger winter whiting are coming through but not big schools of them. The odd flattie has been reported from the river mouth.

We’re enjoying a big mullet run, with hordes of fish starting to leave the creeks. It’s a good time to chase mulloway around the break walls.
