Offshore the water is still warm, and anglers are still catching mackerel, mostly spotties, on livies and hardbodies.

There are plenty of snapper on the inshore reefs taking everything from dead and live baits to soft plastics, metal vibes and octopus imitations (slow jigs).

There are plenty of mulloway on the beaches, ranging from school size up to medium size. They have been taking squid on the high tides, especially on dusk and dawn.

There are plenty of luderick around, and good numbers of squid are being caught anywhere there’s reefy headland.

Tailor are on the prowl and we’re getting a few early signs of the salmon schools being around, but the salmon are not fully here yet.

The estuaries are pretty quiet, with only the odd bream and school jew being reported.
