Report 31/10/14

Beaches
The beaches have been a little messy to say the least. Due to the wind this week we haven't heard too many reports. The Whiting should be starting to get on the chew with the weather warming up. Pillies, whitebait, worms and nippers have been doing some damage. Getting hold of anything fresh is always key. Whether you're trapping a few mullet or jigging up some herring, fresh bait should always be first option. With the Whiting, the Bream and Tailor shouldn't be too far behind. Find the beaches tucked away from the NE winds that have been plaguing our shore.

Rocks
The rocks are a bit the same at the moment, it's hard to find somewhere out of the wind. The tailor, bream, trevally, jew and the odd salmon are all targets available off the stones at this time of year. Just finding a tucked away cove will be the way to go if you're looking for feed from the stones.

Rivers
This is where most anglers will be planing their weekends. Finding some nice water away from the wind will be key with the big winds present at the moment. There are good reports of whiting and flathead with the odd jew thrown in the mix from most creeks. The clarity of the water has been pristine so flicking some surface lures or lightly weighted softies will be a great option as most fish will be on the chew. Concentrating on the low light periods is always best.

Outside
Not that much to talk about this week due to the weather, but with the FAD back out there and the odd marlin sighted over the past few weeks it's looking to be a good current run this year. Let's hope we get some action over the next few weeks.

Till next time, tight lines
