Report 13/11/14

Beaches

This weeks weather has been great most mornings with the afternoons being quite windy at times so looking at the low light periods should be some great catch around with this warmer weather the shallow flats of the beaches should really start to fire. Whiting will be key players in these washy shallow flats in the surf fresh Worms, Pippies, Nippers and small flesh baits will work a treat. Tailor, Bream and Mulloway are prime in some of the deeper gutter along the beach with some good reports coming from around Urunga area this week.

Rocks

The rock fishing has been touch and go with some days seeing some good catchs of Tailor, Kingfish, Trevs and Mulloway. Problem is at the moment somedays you get there and theres not much action at all this time of year can play tricks with rock hoppers giving them false hope with some days being hot and others cold as ice, the point im trying to make is time plays a key factor at this time of year with getting a feed from most rock platforms in Northern NSW so keep plugging away with the weather warming up so will the fishing with species like Tuna, Mackerel and even Marlin being options in the next few weeks as the warm currents get closer to the stones.

Rivers

The Rivers have been firing well with the little bit of rain around in the last few weeks being giving these smaller systems some great flushes with Bream, Flathead, Whiting and Mulloway taking advantage to the fresh bringing good amounts of small fish and shrimp on offer. Try and find the colour change this is prime country to find a feed small lightly weighted strip baits or small bait profile plastics and hardbodys are a great way to spend a afternoon chasing this predators of the river.

Outside

Snapper have been in close and most Kayak fishos have been bagging a few nice reds with the odd yellow tail hoodlum getting around plastics have been a big roll in finding these fish in close for most, lightly weighted strip baits and livies have been doing there far share of damage aswell. The one plus side about plastics is you can cover more ground when trying to find these fish and cranking your plastic can be hard resist for the kingies in most cases with them shoulder barging each other fighting to grab your offering. Out wide the odd Marlin is showing up with good Dolphinfish out around the FAD already, even the odd King showing up to defend its tittle.

Till next time tight lines
