Offshore, the weather has been fairly patchy all week, but it should come good this weekend, and mackerel, both Spanish and spotted, should be on the menu. This has been the best mackerel season in years, and most people have now contracted mackerel fever
Marlin are still on the bite, with blacks and blues coming off the shelf, and some good bait schools hanging around the 65 fathom line.

Along the headlands the LBG crew has been hard at it, with good catches of longtails and Spaniards being reported. Those throwing stickbaits and livebaits have seen the best results.
For the jew diehards, plastics have been the best bet, and several good catches have been reported.

Along the beaches, whiting are chewing pretty hard and worms appear to be the best bait. You'll make the most out of your session if you time it with the run-up tide.

Finally, in the estuaries, bream have been taking lures and baits around the gravel bottoms, flatties are just about everywhere, and there's a heap of trevally in the upper system. Hardbodies, plastics and surface lures have been the standout offerings for these little speedsters.
