As you’d expect, not much fishing was done last week. Because we had over 200mm of rain in the catchment areas, most of the rivers are flowing brown. For the diehard anglers there are jewfish around the front of the systems feeding pretty well. That would be my recommendation – to target them around the river mouths where the dirty water is being pushed out.

All the blackfish would have been put off, but if you find some clean water the bream and flathead might still be available.

Offshore is a no-go. The furthest I would go would be to the close in reefs to chase snapper. The swell system has stirred things up there.
