There's a heap of bass in the fresh starting to be caught with the warm weather and the nor'easter we've had. They're taking surface lures and spinnerbaits.
Into the salt water there's a heap of flathead, and the mud crabs are up nice and high. Down towards the river mouth there are still a lot of bream and trevally. You can pick up jew and tailor from the headland, and the rock walls and river mouths are yielding bream and blackfish.
Offshore, out at the lighthouse there's the odd kingy getting about, and snapper as well. At the wave recorder there are already a few reports of small dolphinfish coming through.
As always, bottom bashers can pick up trag and pearlies out around that 40m mark.
