On the shelf a few striped and blue marlin are getting around.

Moving in a bit closer, on the wave recorder and the FAD a lot of dollies are taking livebaits and trolled lures.

At the island (south solitary and surrounding islands) there are a lot of kingies, AJs and snapper. The kingies and amberjack are taking jigs and livebaits. The snapper are taking plastics and the usual bottom bouncing baits.

On the inshore reefs there are plenty of trag, pearlies and tuskfish.

On the beaches anglers are getting into a heap of whiting, dart and the odd jew, and on the headlands there are jew, tailor and bream.

In the river systems there are whiting, bream and flathead. Fresh bait and lures are your best bet for these bread and butter species.

Up towards the brackish water a few jacks are getting caught, and there bass up in the freshwater taking surface lures and spinnerbaits.
