We have high hopes for a cracker Easter Weekend. The water up off Grassy is slowly clearing with a few Spotted Mackerel poking about taking Slimies. At present there are stacks of Tuna around eating just about anything. These fish have been around the 10 kilo mark but remember your bag of 7 in total and only 2 over 90cm. Fisho’s hunting the bottom are getting some fair Snapper, Tuskies and some average Pearlies. Out at the FAD Dolphin fish are in good numbers, but its tough getting a good day out there. Most of the action is out in front of the jail where both Spanish and Spotted Mackerel have been feeding on the current line. Cobia are also on the bite with good numbers of Tuna here as well. Sharks are a problem with good fish taken regularly just under the boat. Fish Rock has been holding Kings with some crackers amongst them. Slimies are hard to find on the bait grounds with Jims and Cols hole the most productive.

In the river Jewfish are in good numbers off the Break Wall, fishing the tides in the darker hours. Pike has been great bait for these fish. Flathead are about in the dirty water with some cracker Bream along the walls. Reports of the odd Mangrove Jack are coming in as well. Up river good catches of Whiting are happening around Jerseyville and Clybucca.

Most beaches are producing Whiting but Smoky beach has fished really well for Bream, Dart and some very nice Tailor.
