We are getting frosty mornings but it’s worth getting out of bed early because good catches of Snapper have been boated out of numerous locations. Grassy Head has been producing some nice fish in close both on Plastics and bait. Trag are in numbers also while the odd Pearl Perch are being caught. Stock up on your gear because Leather Jackets are back in big numbers starting around the 60 meter mark along the coast. Plenty of Jewfish are out off the Jail with most around the 8 to 10 kilo mark. Out wide the Cod are about while the FAD still has a few Dolphin Fish around it. Trolling close to the shore has been productive for Tailor over the last few weeks. Fish Rock has some King Fish action with a few Snapper if you get there early.

Bream are in good numbers off the river Break wall with some crackers amongst them. Tide changes are normally the best time to hunt these fish with Mullet, Pilchards or Gut. Luderick are also along the walls both north and south sides taking Cabbage and Weed or if you can’t find those, Weed Flies are working a treat. Flathead are in the river in most locations but in the cooler water look for the shallows warmed by the sun where they are a little more active. Rainbow Reach and Jerseyville are fishing well for School Jew, Bream and Flathead.

Smoky Beach has had a few nice Flathead, Bream and Dart in the gutters. Tailor are about but they are unpredictable but when they are on there on in numbers. Back Beach has produced a few Lizards at the entrance to the creek.

Take care on the bars
