We have had another cracker week with terrific weather conditions offshore with many getting out floating their boat or wetting a line. Mackerel have come on the bite with good Spotties and Spanish off Grassy as well as off the Jail and around Jims Hole. You have to get them in quick because they are like lollipops pops to the many Sharks out there. Cobia again were boated through the week with most around the 10 kilo mark. Good Kings are being caught around Green Island and Fish Rock. Out at the FAD Dolphin Fish were in good numbers but the current has been ripping through. Slimies are there on the bait grounds but not that easy to get them feeding.

There were plenty of Bream about mostly feeding along the Walls. Our river system continues to produce good Flathead. Casting or drifting you should nail these tasty fish. Whiting are still making their way down the river with some cracker fish amongst them. It’s worth dropping a crab trap in because the Muddies are in good numbers at the moment. Bass are biting up past Kempsey busting up surface lures early morning and late afternoon.

Good catches of Whiting are coming off Smoky Beach with some very healthy Bream and the odd Tailor.

Rock hoppers are getting amongst some Kings with a few Cobia and Mackerel down towards Hat Head.

Take care on the bars
