Fishermen got amongst some very skittish Mackerel through the week with some of the Spotties undersize which is unusual for this time of year. Fisho’s were removing the wire and fishing mono to the hooks just to temp these finicky fish. Towards the end of the week the Sharks were relentless ripping into you’re your hard earned catch. Bottom bouncers did well with the Snapper off Grassy and Nambucca with some nice Pearl Perch, Pig Fish and Tuskies. In Front of the Jail the Charter operators have been doing well with Jewfish and assorted Reef fish. Trolling lures in close has been productive for some quality Tailor. Fish Rock has given up a few Kings through the week in cooling water.

The river is producing some nice Bream at the moment around the kilo mark caught mainly in the dark. We are still getting reports of Whiting up around Kinchela on the tide change. Good Flathead have been in Spencers Creek and Clybucca Creek around the inlets on the fuller tide. A few Jewfish have come in from the Break wall with some big Shovel Nose Sharks. One or Two Blackfish have started to show up but there not really on the bite yet.

Rock Hoppers are getting amongst some great Drummer off the ledges with Tailor, Trevally, and the odd Tuna landed.

Gap and Smoky Beach is fishing well for Tailor in the afternoon with a few Whiting still about, Bream and Dart as well out of the surf.
