Report 15/6/18

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Jun 15, 2018 9:32 am

Cold winter mornings are finally with us, rug up and head outside because there are some quality fish about at the moment. Snapper up to 5 kilo have turned up off Grassy with some good Pearl Perch and a few tasty Venus Tusk Fish. Last week saw a few Spotties show up with one boat crew hooking eight end of season fish. In front of the Jail there were a few nice Snapper, Kings and the odd Jew. Green Island has some quality Bream around it while there has been a few Kings off Fish Rock.

The River Break Wall is fishing well for big Bream with the late afternoon being the best time to fish. There were a number of nice Jewfish caught through the week jumping all over small live Mullet. Up River Flathead are still active around the boatshed, Clybucca and Jerseyville. Black fish are still to fire with just a sprinkling of downs along the Wall and through the Cut. This is odd but we had reports of Leatherjackets in the river being caught on small Prawns.

Tailor are in good numbers off the Rocks with Drummer, Blackfish and small Kings in the bag. Off the Light House there were a few Jewfish and Tuna through the week.

On the beaches Smoky is producing some nice Bream and Tailor as is Gap Beach while Back beach has a few Flathead in the gutter half way along the beach.
