It was good to see a little rain over last week putting some color in to our river system and hopefully activating the fish bite. It wasn’t all doom and gloom there were a few nice Jewfish pulled out of the river through the week along the Break wall, all at night and towards the end of the wall. The Flathead are still a little shy but in saying that there were some crackers caught mainly throwing into the shallows and finding the drop offs. Big Bream are finicky due to that clear water early but there are stacks of smaller units to keep the kids happy. Whiting are starting to run in the river jumping all over nippers and worms.

If you are heading outside the fishing has improved with Grassy and Scotts producing some nice Pearl Perch and good Snapper. The water quality has been sensational with warm currents coming down the coast. No reports from out wide but the Dollies should start showing up around the FAD soon. Fish Rock has produced a few Kings and Snapper through the week.

It was a mixed bag off the rock ledges with the odd Tailor still about with Bream, Tarwhine and Drummer caught in front of the Jail. Further south around the Lighthouse a jewfish or two have been pulled out.

On the beaches finally a few Whiting are coming in while Smoky beach has produced some cracker Bream through the week.

Take care on the Bars
