We just can’t seem to shake this wind off and it’s making it tough for our blue water fisho’s. There was however a window through the week where boats got out and the results were promising for the upcoming season. Out on the wide grounds the water is sensational and with a few marlin sighted and a striped caught its all looking good. The FAD produced a couple of nice dolphinfish and a few cod from the bottom. In closer the current has been running up hill which is not normally a good thing but there were a few snapper caught around Scotts Head with some nice Pearlies in the mix. Fish Rock again fired up with some big kings.

Our river system is back to a good color after the brown water came down, and with it some very nice Whiting up river from Kinchela to Smithtown. They seem to be biting best on the tide turns. Back towards Jerseyville good flathead have been pulled out as well as nice whiting in the Shallows. This is a good location to try for whiting with those deadly Sugapens lures on these tasty fish. There are plenty of bream along the rock walls to keep you busy.

Off the rocks around the Jail small kings are about along with a dwindling supply of tailor. Around the gutter there have been some nice bream coming out.

On the beaches mainly bream and whiting are being caught with Smoky and Gap Beach you best bet for that better quality fish.
