Easterlies slowed up the blue water action last week with the seas up and the bar on days little dangerous to cross. Those who ventured out headed up to Grassy and Scotts Head and fished for Mackerel but they were harder to find through the week. Scotts has been producing a few Spanish and Wahoo with some Spotties in the mix. Fishing the bottom out of the same location has been a hot spot for Pearl Perch and some fair Snapper. Good numbers of Wahoo are in front of the Jail while further south there are Longtail Tuna and a few Yellow Fin Tuna coming in. Fish Rock has been holding King Fish and the odd Snapper.

There are a few more Whiting on the beaches now with Smoky and Gap Beach the best bet. Bream and Dart are in numbers on these beaches as well. Main beach has a few Flathead and Whiting around the boulders taking worms. Rock Hoppers are hooking into Longtail Tuna off the Lighthouse and along the ledges of Hat Head.

The river has not been that productive over the last few weeks. Fisho’s are battling for a decent Flathead in the clean water, maybe the recent rains may help. There are Bream and Moses Perch along the Breakwalls taking fish baits like Pilchards, Mullet and Gut. Up around Clybucca and Fisherman’s Reach Whiting are on the bite with the odd Flathead in the shallows. You will find Schoolie Jew around the Jerseyville Bridge pylons with the dark hours your best bet. Herring are in good numbers for Live Bait if you are chasing that monster Flathead.
