Weekly Report 16/12/11

We are still battling to get a good day on the water without wind or rain. If you can get out to the FAD mahi mahi are in good numbers. In closer, the Dot is producing some fair snapper and morwong. Grassy Head also has been good for a few snapper and trag. Float a pilly or live bait out in the same area for an early pelagic. Fish Rock has had some nice kings, with reports of a few big yellowfin around the rock as well. No reports from the wider grounds.
There were a number of jewfish caught off the breakwall, mostly schoolies but the odd fish up to 10kg with live bait your best bet. Bream and flathead are in good numbers around the river boat ramp and cleaning table, taking worms and fish bait. It is still very dirty up river but the odd whiting and flathead have been around Kinchela and Smithtown in the muddy water.
If you are chasing whiting, Smoky Beach is your best location with some nice fish caught through the week. There has been the odd jewfish along the beach as well as bream and dart. Gap Beach has been slow apart from the odd bream and whiting. Main Beach has bream and whiting around the Boulders and the Wreck.
We have a store bursting with stock and bargains, come in and have a look for that Christmas idea.
