Weekly Report 14/9/12

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Sep 14, 2012 12:46 pm

People power won out again stopping that destructive supertrawler pillaging our waters, a huge well done to all those involved.
There were reasonable catches through the week with most fish caught in around 60-70m off Grassy and Scotts. Fair snapper, pearlies and a bag of trag has been the order of the day. Some nice tuskfish have been caught out of the same area. On the wider grounds off the wreck, 1m kings have been around with bar cod coming in as well. In closer Fish Rock has a few kings while Green Island is fishing well for bream and tailor.
There were good bream caught out of the river last week mostly off the breakwall on the early morning tides. Flathead were in good numbers again up river from Jerseyville. There is still the odd blackfish along the walls coming in with a few out of the Back Creek as well.
The rockhoppers battled to get a fish last week while the beach fishos have been doing well with good numbers of bream along with some nice flathead. Tailor and Salmon are on Smoky and Gap Beach.
