South West Rocks is back to its best. Spotted mackerel are off Grassy Heads, not really in big numbers but enough for a feed. Big Spanish are on the bite with a few well over 25kg. Snapper are about with trag and morwong while the pearlies were harder to find. The FAD has mahi mahi but they are spooking easily.
In front of the jail is the odd with cobia and wahoo in fair numbers down to Hat Head. Slimies are hard to find among the yakkas.
The river is fishing well for some nice flathead with fair bream along the breakwalls. We seem to have more stingrays than normal getting hooked up, which will get your heart racing until you see what it is. The Jerseyville bridge has good numbers of school jew around the pylons. Whiting are starting to appear up river again but the water is still dirty.
Smoky Beach is loaded with dart while some whiting and bream are in the gutters. Whiting are on Main Beach while Back Beach has the odd flathead coming in. Great drummer are off the ledges at the moment with some nice blackfish and tailor coming in as well.
