Weekly Report 17/5/13

Post by Tony Zann » Fri May 17, 2013 3:49 pm

Deep-sea fishing has slowed down through the week with fishos travelling wide off Scotts for some nice pearl perch, snapper and tuskies, quality fish but no numbers. Off Grassy there were spotties on the bottom busting off snapper rigs and they wouldn’t take anything with wire on it. Morwong are in good numbers if you don’t mind them on the plate. In front of the Jail a couple of wahoo were picked up through the week while down at Fish Rock there have been some nice kings coming in.
Ocean bream have come into the river along the walls. These are quality fish biting mainly in the darker hours. Blackfish are patchy with a few in the Back Creek and along the breakwall. Flathead are around Stuarts Point and Clybucca with a few whiting on worms and nippers. Jerseyville is holding school jew under the bridge.
Rockhoppers are getting some nice tailor, drummer, luderick and tarwhine off the ledges from the Jail to Hat Head.
Smoky Beach still has a few Whiting coming in with bream, dart and tailor. There were some nice flathead caught off Main Beach last week along with a few bream.
