Weekly Report 6/9/13

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Sep 06, 2013 11:05 am

We have had another fantastic week in paradise with great condition on the water. Off Grassy there were Pearlies coming in up to 3.5 kilo with a few nice Snapper floating Pilchards down to the bottom. Trag are in good numbers with a few Tuskies and Morwong a little deeper. The Leather Jackets seem to be backing off with only a few reports from fisho,s Trolling in front of the Gaol, Tailor numbers dropped through the week but there were Bonito amongst them. If these water temperatures continue it won’t be long before we see some Pelagic action.
We could do with a good few days of rain because the river is as clear as tap water. Bream are hard to hook in these conditions so Flurocarbon leaders are a must. Of the baits Tuna has been working well. Even up river past Jerseyville where there has been a good run of Flathead, is now proving tough to get any numbers. Clybucca has the odd Whiting and Bream with some smaller Flathead in the backwaters.
The Beaches have been quite with Smoky giving up a few Bream, Dart and Whiting while Gap Beach has the odd Tailor off the northern end of the beach. Main Beach off the Boulders you will find a few Tailor and Bream.
