Weekly Report 14/11/13

Post by Nicole Penfold » Thu Nov 14, 2013 2:24 pm

It has been a quite week on the water, with only fair conditions prevailing.

The charter guys are reporting numbers of Trag in the close to middle grounds with a scattering of Snapper and the odd Pearlie out of the same location. There were some nice fish around Fish Rock again through the week.

Sharks are in numbers around the place due to the dead mutton birds forcing the closure of a few beaches.

A little colour in the river has helped the Bream bite, with some nice fish coming in along the walls.

Whiting have started to appear on the flats up from Jerseyville Bridge on the rising tide. Flathead and School Jew are in fair numbers in the deeper holes. There have been plenty of Shark sightings upriver chasing Mullet or Whiting.

Smoky Beach is fishing well for Bream. They are not world beaters but the numbers are good. Whiting and Dart are also about on Smoky and Gap Beach.

The swell has been up for the rock hoppers but good Bream and Tarwhine are off the ledges with the odd Tailor hanging about.

Take care on the bars

Paul Martin
