Weekly Report 27/11/13

Post by Nicole Penfold » Wed Nov 27, 2013 10:54 am

There were a few more fish about last week, both bluewater and inshore. Grassy and Scotts Head fished well for Snapper through the week with some nice catches off the close grounds along with some fair Trag, Mowies and Pearl Perch in the deeper water.

Next week it would not surprise me if a Spotty or two turn up, with Yamba producing some and reports of some caught around Hat Head. There are good Kings off the Hat while Fish Rock is loaded with Rats. Dolphinfish (mahi mahi) have made an appearance in from the FAD.

Jewfish are in good numbers in the river, with some crackers around the entrance. There are plenty of Pike around for these fish. There some nice Flathead around Jerseyville, with drifting the outgoing tide productive. Whiting are about in the shallows with fair Bream along the walls.

Smoky Beach is fishing well for Whiting, Bream and Dart, with a few Tailor at first light. Gap has Bream and Whiting, with the beaches here at the rocks slow. Rock Hoppers are getting Tarwine, Bream and Tailor with Kingfish, Tuna and the odd pelagic off the ledges around Hat Head.

Take care on the bars

Paul Martin
