There is a buzz in the air here at the South West Rocks with the water warming nicely to around 24 degrees and a good colour about it. With some Mackerel off Coffs it won’t be long before we see them in our waters.

The FAD is producing Dolphin Fish (Mahi Mahi) in good numbers taking live bait and some skirted lures. Trag, Pearl Perch and Snapper are off the reefs at Scotts and Grassy. Live Bait are everywhere which is a good sign. At Fish Rock the Kings are biting on jigs with some good results reported. The Dot has Morwong and a few Snapper coming in.

GTs are in the river at the moment up to 4 kilos around Jerseyville and even one reported in Belmore River. Whiting are on the bite upriver to Smithtown with numbers building towards the mouth of the river. Some nice Flathead were pulled out of the river last week with the big tides helping.

Smoky Beach has been productive on Whiting and Bream but not much else through the week. Main and Back Beaches have had a few Flathead and Whiting coming in.

Take care on the bars
