This is still the place to be if you like to chase those smaller Black Marlin on light gear. Good numbers are getting hooked around the 30 to 40 kilo mark, which has also been great fun for the kayak boys here at the moment. Dolphin Fish are in good numbers off the FAD and closer if you can find floating debris. The Mackerel have been a little finicky off the northern reefs but if you can get amongst the Spotties, they are quality fish. There were a few Spanish out of the same area but with no size about them. On the bottom Snapper are a non-event but there are a few Trag about. Kings and Yellowfin are around the Fish Rock with good numbers of Bonito.

The river has a heap of Moses Perch at the moment with the odd good Bream. Flathead are on the flats around Jerseyville with some cracker Whiting. The Break wall fishermen are tackling big Shovel nose Sharks testing their gear. Good Flathead have been caught through the week off the Wall as well.

Whiting, Bream and Dart are the fare off Smoky and Gap Beach while Back Beach is fishing well for Whiting at the mouth of the Creek on the rising tide.

Take care on the bars
