Much better conditions saw more fishos get on the water through the week. Spotted Mackerel were caught off the northern reefs with most caught down towards the bottom. Bluefin Tuna up to 15 kilo were reported as well. Some better reef fish were caught out of the same location with the best Snapper reported around 8 kilo. Nice Pearlies were about in fair numbers. A few days last week heaps of Hammer Head Sharks were a real problem stealing your bait or your fish. Fish Rock has a few nice Kings, Yellowfin and big Bonito around it.

Good Numbers of Bream and Tarwine are coming in off thebeach with Smoky Beach down towards Hat Head your best bet jumping all over live worms. Tailor are about as well around first light. Back Beach has been producing a few Flathead at the creek mouth.

The river has been fishing well for Bream along the walls with better fish in the darker hours. Flathead have been harder to find, bigger units more so. Smaller Jews are off the Break Wall with some nice Tailor on the very end of the Wall.

Take care on the bars

Paul Martin
