Report 02/07/14

Post by Nicole Penfold » Wed Jul 02, 2014 3:32 pm

Finally the big blow has settled leaving calmer conditions through the week. The ocean temps have cooled but prior to that local Les Palmer fished the northern reefs in about 60 meters for a bag of Spanish and Spotted with live baits set around 10meters under. Snapper, Trag and Pearlies were about out of the same area. Fish Rock is producing some fair Kings with a few Yellow Fin and Snapper about. Wider off Fish Rock Pearl Perch were coming in small numbers. Live bait are in great numbers again off the bait grounds.

The river is crystal clear making it tough to fish for Bream through the day but late afternoons are producing good fish along the walls. Blackfish numbers are down while we wait for the cool water to come in the river. Kinchella and Jerseyville are fishing well for Flathead and Bream. Smaller Jews were reported of the North wall up to about 6 kilo.

Lock up your Drags, monster Salmon are in the surf and off the rock ledges and on the plus side only big Tailor want to hang with these critters. Bream and Dart are in fair numbers along the beaches with Smoky your best bet.
