Report 23/07/14

Post by Nicole Penfold » Wed Jul 23, 2014 10:09 am

Early in the week the conditions outside were pretty horrible then flattened to fair. The Dolphin Fish are still calling the FAD home with some good catches there. Fishing the northern reefs of Grassy has been slow with a few Trag, small Snapper and the odd other Reef fish. Green Island down south has some cracker Bream around it with the odd King testing your drag on the Bream gear. Fish Rock has better Kings about with the odd Snapper. Try trolling past the Gutter in front of the Gaol for the big Green Back Tailor reported.

We could do with a little rain to dirty up the river because it is Crystal clear even past Jerseyville. There were a few Flathead reported through the week around Jerseyville with stacks of School Jew under the bridge, good fun on plastics. The Bream are cagey in the clear water but light gear and working the tides is the go.

Smoky Beach and Gap Beach have been firing with Tailor on Gar Fish and with metal lures. Back Beach has a few Flathead and Bream near the entrance.
