Report 19/9/14

Post by subeditor » Fri Sep 19, 2014 9:58 am

It has been a bit of a slog on the water for outside fishers with good feeds hard to come by. There were a few snapper reported off the reefs around Grassy to Scotts. One crew got amongst a good school of pearl perch through the week with some nice fish in the bag. There were some nice macs in front of the Gaol hitting spinners with the odd tailor on the troll. Good reports were coming in from the Hat Head grounds with some good snapper on plastics.
Good numbers of drummer have moved in along the rock ledges with some big units amongst them. Smoky Beach fished well for bream through the week with one or two whiting and flathead.
Good flathead and school mulloway have been landed up river past Kinchela on plastics and at the moment the deeper water is the go. Bream are still in numbers off the Break Wall with blackfish just about done for the year.

Take care on the Bars
